7 Prophecies of Lord Kalki
Before incarnating God upon the Earth, the Supreme Lord Adi Ganapati,
through Lord Vishnu, causes awareness and prophecy of the Lord’s arrival. In
prophecy, instead of using the actual names of any person, place, or event,
symbolic and synonymous words are chosen, so that no wicked person may misuse
the details of the prophecy to mislead the world.
1. Birth-Place: According to the prophecy, Lord Kalki will be born on
Shambhal Island. The Gandharva city situated on the seashore is called Shambhal
Island. Gandharva city is called Film City. At present in India, Mumbai,
Kannur, Chennai, and Visakhapatnam, etc., are Shambhal
Islands. Lord Kalki will be born in one of these cities in India—Mumbai, Kannur, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, etc.
2. Mother: According to the prophecy, the name of Lord Kalki’s mother will be Sumati. The literal meaning of Sumati is intellect that grants liberation. Vidya, Bharati, Saraswati, Kamala, etc., are synonymous names of Sumati. That is, Lord Kalki’s mother’s name may be one among Kamala, Vidya, Bharati, Saraswati, etc.
3. Father: According to the prophecy, the name of Lord Kalki’s father will be Vishnuyash. The literal meaning of Vishnuyash is one who attains fame through Vishnu. Lord Shiva, becoming the destroyer, destroys the domains of the sustainer Vishnu at the proper time; therefore, Lord Shiva is called Vishnuyash. Sadashiva, Mahadev, Kedar, Kailas, Mahesh, etc., are synonymous names of Vishnuyash. That is, Lord Kalki’s father’s name may be one among Kailas, Mahadev, Kedar, Mahesh, etc.
4. Linage: According to the prophecy, Lord Kalki will be born in the Brahmin lineage of a village chief, whose family will have the surname of a Gram Mukhya Brahmin. The administrative head of a village, who is the chief landholder of that village, and his lineage and surname are called Gram Mukhya. In the Brahmin varna there are hundreds of surnames, but among village chiefs there are about 10–12 surnames of the Brahmin varna. Hegde, Patil, Kulkarni, Khot, etc., are Gram Mukhya Brahmin surnames. That is, Lord Kalki’s family surname may be one among Khot, Kulkarni, Hegde, Patil, etc.
5. Mission: According to the prophecy, Lord Kalki will arrive riding
a horse named Devadatta. Lord Kalki will have a double-edged sword in His hand.
There will be no sheath for the sword. There will be a parrot on His shoulder.
He will wear yellow garments and armor with earrings.
The literal meaning of Devadatta is the scriptures of dharma; that is, Lord Kalki will first publish a scripture of dharma, and through that scripture will reveal Himself and travel around the world with it. The
double-edged sword refers to the pen; that is, Lord Kalki will publish the
knowledge of Sanatan Dharma through His writing and expose the reality of
adharma. The absence of a sheath for the sword means that Lord Kalki will make
no compromise through His writing.
The literal meaning of Sukh or Sukhdev is the narrator of purana. The parrot on the shoulder means that whatever knowledge of Sanatan Dharma Lord Kalki speaks and writes in his purana, His Sukhdev and followers will repeat that knowledge and spread it throughout the world. The yellow garment signifies a householder;
Lord Kalki will be a householder. The armor signifies fearlessness and
protection; that is, Lord Kalki will be fearless, and nature and society
themselves will protect Him. The earrings signify concentration and
steadfastness; Lord Kalki will be single-minded toward His mission, and no
person will be able to mislead Him by influencing His ears.
6. Character: According to the prophecy, Lord Kalki will have three
brothers—Sumant, Prajna, and Kavi—who will assist Lord Kalki in the
re-establishment of Sanatan Dharma. The literal meaning of Sumant is friend;
that is, Lord Maitreya is addressed by the name Sumant. The literal meaning of
Prajna is one who acts with wisdom; that is, Lord Kalki is addressed by the
name Prajna. The literal meaning of Kavi is extraordinary creator. Lord Ganesha
is the sole extraordinary composer of the Sanatan scriptures; that is, Lord
Ganesha is addressed by the name Kavi. Lord Kalki, Maitreya Buddha, and Lord
Ganesha will incarnate in a single human body to re-establish Sanatan Dharma.
7. Horoscope: According to the prophecy, during the transitional
period between the second and third phases of Kaliyuga, when the illegitimate
father, son, and guru will pursue the golden deer, and when all three capture
that golden deer, then Lord Kalki will manifest and become the liberator of the
golden deer. To explain astrology more easily, Lord Dattatreya began teaching
astrology through mythological symbolic stories.
In astrology, the Sun is referred to as the father of Saturn. In astrology, the Moon is referred to as the illegitimate father of Mercury. Because the Moon has many phases, it assumes the forms of father, husband, mother, queen, uncle, lover, trickster, disciple, etc. In astrology, Mercury is referred to as the illegitimate son of the Moon. In astrology, the planet Jupiter is referred to as the teacher. In astrology, the golden deer is referred to as the Mrigashira constellation. The meaning is that during the transitional period between the second and third phases of Kaliyuga, when the Moon, Mercury, and Jupiter all transit through the Mrigashira constellation, then Lord Kalki will incarnate on Earth.
